AAOS Future Book Topics Survey: Survey Incentive (OKU and ICL) Drawing Terms

  1. No purchase necessary to enter the Drawing.
  2. Eligibility: To be eligible to win and receive a copy of Orthopaedic Knowledge Update ® (OKU) #14 series (print/eBook bundle only) or Instructional Course Lecture (ICL) #72 (each a “Prize”), Members must complete the future books survey. Two (2) copies of OKU #14 series and three (3) copies of ICL #72 will be Prizes included in the Drawing, for which there will be five (5) winners selected. Employees of AAOS and their immediate family members, or anyone with whom they are domiciled are not eligible to win and receive a prize. The Drawing is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Any Drawing entries that are prohibited by any applicable federal, state or local laws or regulations are null and void. It is the responsibility of the Member to determine whether participation in the Drawing is permitted under the laws applicable of their state of residence.
  3. Drawing Date: The Drawing will take place on August 21, 2023.
  4. How to Enter: To enter the Drawing, Members must complete the future books survey before the Drawing Date.
  5. Winner Selection and Winner Notification: Winners will be chosen at random from those that have completed the future books survey. The winner will be notified by phone, mail and/or e-mail within 72 hours of the Drawing. In the event that the potential winner does not comply with these Rules, or cannot be contacted within 72 hours of being notified, that selection shall be void with no further obligation to that potential winner, and an alternate Member may be selected from the remaining entries.
  6. Prize and Value: The prize(s) to be awarded in this Drawing are two (2) copies of OKU #14 series, valued at $379.99 each, and three (3) copies of ICL #72, valued at $329,99 each. No cash substitutions or equivalents for the Prize will be permitted. AAOS reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event that the Prize becomes unavailable. Federal, state and local taxes on the Prize are solely the responsibility of the winner. The winner may be required to provide AAOS with valid social security number(s) or tax identification number(s) before the Prize will be awarded for tax reporting purposes. An IRS Form 1099 may be issued in the name of the winner for the actual value of the Prize received.
  7. Dates & Deadlines/Anticipated Number of Drawing Entrants: AAOS reserves the right, in addition to those other rights reserved herein, to modify any date(s) or deadline(s) set forth in these Rules or otherwise governing the Drawing. AAOS cannot accurately predict the number of Members entering the Drawing.
  8. Name of Drawing Winner/Official Rules Requests. For the name of the winner or a copy of these Rules, please contact Kristen Wagner at wagner@aaos.org.
  9. Release: By participating in the Drawing, entrants agree to release, discharge, indemnify and hold harmless AAOS and its directors, officers, employees, agents, successors and assigns (“Released Parties”) from and against any and all claims, liability, costs (including attorneys’ fees), losses, damages, fines or injuries of any kind arising out of or related to: (i) participation in the Drawing; (ii) any acceptance, possession, misuse or use of the Prize; (iii) the Released Parties’ violation of rights of publicity or privacy, claims of defamation or portrayal in a false light or based on any claim of infringement of intellectual property; and (iv) any typographical, human or other error in the printing, offering, selection, operation or announcement of any Drawing activity and/or prize.
  10. Information Submitted. By entering this Drawing and voluntarily providing personal information (including, but not limited to name, address, telephone number and email address) (collectively "Entrant Information"), entrants consent and agree to AAOS’s collection and use of the Entrant Information to administer this Drawing, and to comply with applicable laws and regulations. Registrant Information is subject to AAOS’s website terms of use and privacy policy.
  11. Miscellaneous. By entering the Drawing, Entrants agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of AAOS, which are final on all matters relating to the Drawing. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Rules will not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision of the Rules is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, the other provisions will remain in effect and will be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein. AAOS’s failure to enforce any term of these Rules will not constitute a waiver of that provision. The Drawing is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, to the extent permitted by law.
