Why did you join AAOS?
AAOS provides a great opportunity to stay informed with free access to newsletters, research articles, educational sessions, and membership highlights. As a medical student, minimizing extra fees for networking and learning is invaluable! Organizations that offer such support are truly forward-thinking and greatly appreciated.

What are you looking forward to most about AAOS?
I’m excited about the opportunity to present at one of the conferences! After hearing members of AOSSM discuss conservative versus surgical treatment at the AMSSM conference in Baltimore, I was inspired to reflect on the field's current state and explore ways to advance medicine.

What interested you about orthopaedics?
Musculoskeletal health is unique because it affects individuals across their entire lifespan—from athletic injuries to age-related degeneration. Orthopaedics stands out in its ability to address these issues through a wide range of interventions, from minimally invasive to advanced surgical techniques. I’m excited to contribute to its evolution as new advancements continue to shape the future of patient care with my background as an athlete myself.

What is the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
Dr. Nailah Adams Morancie, my mentor and the program director for the Family Medicine - Sports Medicine Fellowship, once told me that my voice and story will always matter, and I am never “just a medical student.” Her advice has been invaluable, giving me the confidence and excitement to take on multiple leadership roles throughout my journey.

What's one thing you're currently trying to make a habit?
Waking up at 5 AM! I thought those days were over in my collegiate years. But, oh was I wrong.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I am a certified gym rat in a white coat and a learner of life. I am the friend you call to try new foods, sports, or random hobbies. I learned how to surf last summer (not well, but learned).

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know!
I am a “theater kid”. I was in show choir, glee, and performing arts up until my sophomore year of college.
