Why did you join AAOS?
I joined AAOS to learn from the best and connect with the best! I value being part of communities where members seek to build each other up and having fallen in love with investigating musculoskeletal anatomy and athletic injuries, so being part of AAOS just makes sense!

What are you looking forward to most about AAOS?
Doing my part to stay on, as well as advance, the leading edge of clinical orthpaedic practices! I look forward to new ideas and inspirations for research projects and hope to get advice from members at all stages of their careers. I hope to build relationships that could grow into future research collaborations, shared conference panels, mentorships, or simply new friendly faces - maybe even join another fantasy football league or two as well!

What interested you about orthopaedics?
I have an exceptionally curious mind, so when I see my favorite basketball or soccer players not getting up after a tough foul, I instinctually go down investigative rabbit holes to learn more about these injuries and try to find when I could expect them back on the court/field. My father is a PM&R physician so the goals of seeking pain relief and return of a superior quality of life for patients was also instilled in me early. Once in medical school, I loved my first-year orthopedic sports medicine elective and did whatever I could to learn and teach MSK in the anatomy lab. That, combined with the trauma I saw when responding to 911 calls as an EMT since 2017, developed a keen interest in learning the definitive treatment for orthopedic injuries and I have loved every case and patient encounter in the field since!

What is the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
Always have a plan but don’t be afraid to abandon it! I think most people (myself included) find peace and confidence knowing what to expect when they're prepared for it, but you never know what life will throw at you so make sure you’re ready to pivot to plans B through Z on a dime.

What's one thing you're currently trying to make a habit?
10-15 minutes of mindfulness/meditation each morning. Beyond reminding myself of the big picture every day, I find it helps me arrange and prioritize my goals for the day, reflect on what I've learned over the last few days, and re-focus my efforts on where I hope to grow the most in the following days.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I’m an avid beachgoer and even more avid Boston sports fan. I’m also a bit of a Marvel and Star Wars nerd. Aside from that, I enjoy growing my vinyl record and sports jersey collections or playing soccer, basketball, and pickleball in my free time.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know!
With it being football season, I’m a two-time champion of our fantasy football league!
