How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
I was always inspired by the AAOS level of professionalism. The academy has always offered a sense of belonging to the group, offering academic and scientific support as well as giving the chance to share knowledge.
As an International Member which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
I use the AAOS website the most. Since I was a resident, I continually read the AAOS Instructional Course Lecture book, and I had the chance as a fellow to participate in a chapter of this wonderful yearly publication.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
The best advice given to me was not to ever miss the yearly AAOS Congress Meeting. It was from Daniel J. Berry, MD, FAAOS, former President of the Academy.
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Focus, prioritize, achieve where nothing is called impossible.
What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Attend the AAOS Annual Meeting and try to submit a scientific paper every year.
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
My best hobby currently is deep sea fishing. I really enjoy nature and fighting sea monsters. I also have a great interest in the history of medicine, especially orthopaedics.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I deeply believe that surgery is an art where every surgeon has their own signature.
