Why did you join AAOS?
I wanted to be connected to colleagues world-wide, learn from them, be inspired by them, collaborate with them, and hopefully build long lasting relationships.
How do you define success?
To me success is the continuous effort to try to be better and never get too comfortable or lazy.
Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
Professor James Calder, a truly exceptional foot and ankle surgeon and human extraordinaire. During my Fellowship with him he was always encouraging me to be curious about everything. I was so inspired that someone so successful can be so humble and motivated to help open doors for others.
How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
The resources that AAOS offers are just vast. I especially love the online opportunities and webinars that since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic have become even more readily available. I am very much looking forward to attending the Annual Meeting for the first time this year!
What advice would you give to new members of AAOS?
Register for the online webinars. I love how we can all benefit from the experience and lessons of highly experienced colleagues even if you are not always able to travel overseas.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
My absolute favorite thing to do outside of work is kitesurfing.
