As an International Resident member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
The ROCK platform is my go-to resource. I find it super helpful to skim through specific topics, and the synthesized knowledge on the platform makes it easy to do some reading in between busy OR schedules.
What's the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
My mother always reminds me of Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." I try to live by that every day.
What's your go-to productivity trick?
It is all about preparation. Before I operate or do anything important, I try to learn everything I can about the subject and run every possible scenario in my head to minimize surprises.
What's one thing you're currently trying to make a habit?
I'm constantly trying to unlearn my natural tendency to procrastinate. These days, I have boiled it down to a series of self-imposed deadlines that I have to meet for all aspects of my life.
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
I enjoy listening to podcasts. JAAOS Unplugged is one of my favorites. I listen to it when I'm driving to and from work. I also try to be physically active whenever I can. Exercise helps me relax after a long day.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I was named after Lazarus (from the Bible) after I was accidentally pronounced dead in utero.
