As an Emeritus Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
AAOS Now, JAAOS.  Keeps me current with my life’s work.

If you were mentoring a new member, what important advice would you give them as they progress in their career?
Do what you love, welcome new ideas, technology, and people.
Good ideas come from all directions not just the expected.
Make time for family and develop other interests.

What aspect of retirement surprised you the most?
The relative ease of transitioning to a new role in life. A quick expansion of interest in and curiosity about other scientific fields. Also, a rapid increase in the time available to continue my lifelong love of reading different genres.

What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
Gardening, restoration of a vintage Porsche, travel the world, reading and hiking in Arizona and the Pacific Northwest.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
Generally unknown, attended elementary school in a one-room school in rural Missouri and graduated eighth grade in a class of one.  Me!
