Ramakanth R Yakkanti, MD
Adult Reconstruction Surgeon
Associate Director of Research
Rothman Orthopaedics at Advent Health
Orlando, FL

How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
AAOS helped tremendously by providing exposure to the field of orthopaedics when I first attended the National meeting as a medical student. It continued to provide opportunities to be involved in the orthopedic community as well as opened avenues beyond clinic orthopedics to pursue. For example, my interest in advocacy and health policy grew with me being part of the Resident Health Policy Committee in AAOS during my training. Also provided a platform to present my research to the larger orthopedic community as I had an opportunity to give several research podium presentations at AAOS throughout my years in training.

As a Candidate Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
AAOS Newsletters, Annual Meeting, JAAOS

What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
