How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
The AAOS has been a cornerstone in my career development. Their educational resources, particularly the ResStudy program, and the Comprehensive Orthopaedic Review books were invaluable during residency. The AAOS Annual Meetings have been a great platform for networking, allowing me to connect with others and stay updated with the latest advancements in the field. Their commitment to continuing education and advocacy efforts has also been instrumental in shaping my practice and ensuring I provide the best care to my patients.
As a Candidate Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
I love the JAAOS, particularly review articles discussing topics outside of spine surgery. The AAOS Annual Meeting continues to be a key opportunity for networking and catching up with old friends.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
From a young age, my parents emphasized the importance of treating others as I would want to be treated, shaping my interactions and relationships throughout my life. This principle has guided me in showing empathy and understanding towards others, who in return, treat me with kindness and respect.
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
I wake up very early, which allows me to exercise and do work-related activities so that I can be present for my family in the evening.
What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Go on a walk with my family every evening.
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
Trying to start playing tennis. Spending time with friends and family is my favorite thing to do.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
My three daughters love to wrestle with me, but I rarely let them win.
