Why did you join AAOS?
I joined AAOS because I want to contribute to the efforts that improve our collective profession and patient care.
How do you define success?
I love John Wooden’s definition of success – the peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best you are capable of becoming.
Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
My biggest inspirations are my wife and two sons because my wife expects that I always give my very best, and you should see the smiles I get when I get home.
How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
The Academy has helped me develop clinical and research interests, and more recently has facilitated direct networking connections that have helped me land a position with the best practice I could imagine.
What advice would you give to new members of AAOS?
I still consider myself a new member, so I am receptive to all the advice I can get.

I make one of the best Frito Pies you’ve ever tasted.
