How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
Starting from fellowship to attending, AAOS ResStudy helped me to keep up with the current literature and helped me to get through my written boards. The AAOS Annual Meeting helps me to keep up with my current knowledge in practice.
As an Associate Orthopaedic Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
I use ResStudy the most to teach my residents and fellows to prepare for their boards.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
From Alvin Crawford, MD, FAAOS (Cincinnati) when I was doing Pediatric Orthopaedic fellowship. He told me that you should always be prepared for the surgery, even if it’s a small case and if you have done several of them. Review your anatomy well before surgery which I still remember and continue to follow that.
What’s your go-go productivity trick?
Hard work and good help and advice.
What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Trying to focus on mindfulness when I have time. If time permits, I will try to do this frequently and make it a habit.
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
Spending time with family, hiking, and camping.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
None that I know of—I am usually open and tell all the fun facts to my family and friends.
