The AAOS gives me a platform to access educational and professional resources.
As an Affiliate Orthopaedic Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
The JAAOS and the Techniques Journals offer up-to-date scientific knowledge. I think the CPGs are superb especially when helping patients make an informed decision. I often access the OVT for new surgical techniques
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
My senior partner was an old-school orthopaedic surgeon. When I joined him he said that to be successful in private practice one has to be “affable, affordable and available”. I believe it was good advice then.
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
I have a superb team in the office and operating room. I respect them and try to lead by example. I review every single surgical procedure the night before. I run a tight ship and the work gets done well in a timely manner.
What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Stress less.
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
Woodworking, fly fishing, scuba, kayaking, photography.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
Love music, still play records on my Dual turntable. I have every single Beatles album and more.
