How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
Being a foreign medical graduate, AAOS helped me relaunch my career in the United States by providing me with the platform to learn new techniques and extend my professional network. Earlier during my training, I used to look forward to the AAOS annual meeting to meet and connect with leaders to enhance my career. Now I look forward to the meeting to see everyone and continue learning from the best by attending specialty-related instructional lecture courses and keeping myself updated.
As an Associate Orthopedic Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
All resources have helped me keep up with the continuously improving technologies. I use OVT the most as I can watch the different surgical techniques from renowned surgeons. Having access to the JAAOS provides you with the most recent knowledge in orthopaedics. I really appreciate all that AAOS offers to its members.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
My dad always told me "Learning from your mistakes is smart but learning from others' mistakes is wise."
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Pre-operative planning is crucial for surgical procedures. Failing to plan is planning to fail.
What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Read journal articles for 30 minutes every day to keep my knowledge current.
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
Watching action movies with my son.
Tell us fun facts about yourself that not many people know?
Besides India and the United States, I have also received orthopaedic fellowship training from Germany, Switzerland, and England.
