How has the AAOS helped you throughout your career?
The AAOS has provided a place for leadership growth and social support. It also allows me to meet talented orthopaedic surgeons around the country in non-academic practices that I might not have met elsewhere. This provides an immense perspective for myself that I can pass on to residents and fellows.
As an Active Fellow Member, which AAOS resources do you use most and why?
Honestly, I follow AAOS on Instagram and I find it so interesting, helpful, and motivating.
What’s the best advice you were ever given? Who was it from?
Dr. Stuart Weinstein, whom I met through the ALI program as my mentor, told me that the best way to manage post-op complications is to start pre-op by having a great relationship with the patient prior to surgery. That really clicked with me.
What’s your go-to productivity trick?
Lists.
What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?
Slow down and listen to my instincts.
What hobbies do you enjoy in your spare time?
Playing with my daughters and snowboarding.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that not many people know?
I love interior design. Love. Obsessed. It's not healthy.
