Application Process

IMPOLRTANT: the application and all uploaded documents must be in English. Non-English applications will not be reviewed for selection.

Fill out the online application. In the application, you will upload Word or PDF versions of the following: 

  • Curriculum Vitae - Guidelines
  • Two Letters of Recommendation - Guidelines
  • An official letter from your national or specialty society confirming that you are a current member in good standing
  • Four Essays

Essay 1 
Describe why you would like to participate in an AAOS Orthopaedic Learning Center (OLC) surgical skill course and what you hope to accomplish by your participation in the course. You may include your professional goals for the next 3-5 years and how attending an OLC course will help you achieve them.

Essay 2
Describe your current practice environment (hospital, clinic, academic, rural, research etc), the types of procedures you do and with what frequency, and the patient population you serve.

Essay 3
Describe any recent leadership accomplishments in your professional life and/or how you have created positive change in your community.

Essay 4 
Describe any community volunteer service and/or any independent research you conduct, which is in addition to your regular hospital duties. For example, you might volunteer with a disaster relief organization or run a research lab.
