Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, learners should be able to:
- Review Key Principles of common orthopaedic conditions and treatments
- Analyze various traumatic and non-traumatic orthopaedic conditions, including their etiology, presentation, and progression.
- Evaluate and compare non-operative and operative treatment options for common orthopaedic conditions.
- Assess and manage pediatric orthopaedic conditions, including genetic, congenital, dysplastic, and traumatic presentations.
- Apply diagnostic and treatment concepts for adult hip and knee reconstructions, including pre-operative planning, surgical techniques, and post-operative care.
- Describe the normal anatomy and physiology of bone, cartilage, nerve, muscle, tendon, and ligament.
- Evaluate and diagnose traumatic and non-traumatic foot and ankle, and hand conditions.
- Recognize and manage emergency conditions in trauma care, including initial assessment, stabilization, and definitive treatment.
- Evaluate and diagnose essential traumatic and non-traumatic spine conditions.
- Demonstrate understanding of essential concepts in upper and lower extremity sports medicine, including injury prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Apply differential diagnosis principles to identify bony and soft tissue lesions in both young and adult patients.
