Physicians Must Identify Predatory Journals
This editorial concludes a two-part series on open access journals and predatory journals. The first editorial appeared in the January issue of AAOS Now. Over the past several years, the orthopaedic literature has absorbed an avalanche of new journal offerings, many utilizing an online-only, open access format. Many are legitimate and useful scientific vehicles, often sponsored by a major orthopaedic subspecialty organization.

Have You Heard About the New OVT?
AAOS members have long recognized the Orthopaedic Video Theater (OVT) as the premier destination for viewing high-quality, peer-reviewed educational video content at the AAOS Annual Meeting. Historically, following each meeting, videos have been placed in an online archive that was accessible only to those with paid membership. In 2017, the OVT Committee, in partnership with the AAOS Board of Directors, elected to make the video content free to all orthopaedic residents in training.
