New CPG Addresses Hip Osteoarthritis and THA
At the 2017 AAOS Annual Meeting in San Diego, the AAOS approved the release of a Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) on Management of Osteoarthritis (OA) of the Hip. The guideline includes four recommendations classified as "strong," being derived from evidence from two or more "high-quality" studies with consistent findings for recommending for or against an intervention, and eight classified as "moderate."

A Resident's Perspective of Annual Meeting
Every year, the AAOS Annual Meeting provides orthopaedic surgeons and allied healthcare providers with a wealth of educational and networking opportunities. Submit Manuscripts for 2018 Kappa Delta Awards
The AAOS is soliciting manuscripts for the 2018 Kappa Delta Awards and the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation (OREF) Clinical Research Award. Up to two $20,000 Kappa Delta awards—the Elizabeth Winston Lanier Award and the Ann Doner Vaughan Award, one $20,000 Kappa Delta Young Investigator award, and one $20,000 OREF Clinical Research Award—will be bestowed, provided manuscripts of requisite quality are submitted.

AAOS Education in Vietnam
The AAOS-Vietnamese Orthopaedic Association (VOA) Visiting Faculty and Professional Development Program was designed as a comprehensive education program aimed at improving the quality of orthopaedic care in Vietnam. The Leadership Fellows Program (LFP) offers an exciting opportunity available to all AAOS Fellows who are age 45 and younger by Jan. 31, 2018. The LFP is a 1-year program that begins at the AAOS Annual Meeting. The program's goal is to facilitate the development of future AAOS leaders from younger members who have previous volunteer or leadership experience. The LFP combines didactic and experiential leadership training with an ongoing mentoring program.
