Las Vegas Is Ready to Welcome AAOS
Unforgettable entertainment, upscale casinos, gourmet dining, and great sightseeing are just a few of the things that draw visitors to Las Vegas, known by many as “the entertainment capital of the world.” But when the AAOS Annual Meeting comes to Las Vegas on March 24–28, my hometown will be “the orthopaedic education capital of the world.”

This Is Where I Came In
I have been involved with the AAOS since 1976 and have seen it, as a specialty society, become the best and remain the best over and over. So now it’s time for me to go, because this is where I came in—at the best part. Since the 1970s, a lot of water has passed under the Rosemont bridge, but I have been a lucky guy. Champagne Terry, the Sequel
My first trip to Las Vegas was 50 years ago, and my very first AAOS annual meeting 40 years ago was in Las Vegas. Since then, I’ve been going to Vegas three times a year on the pretense of education, but mainly to drink and gamble. They don’t call me Champagne Terry because I got a gold star in Sunday school. I lost my first dollar on Fremont Street. You’ve probably never heard of it, but you will. But before you do, let’s reminisce a bit.

AAOS Implements New Disclosure Protocol
Effective with the 2015 Annual Meeting, all Academy educational programs will have streamlined disclosure requirements. This new system is designed to simplify and unify the disclosure processes across all Academy educational events and materials, while remaining consistent with the requirements of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.
