A study of patients who were scheduled to undergo total hip arthroplasty (THA) found that individuals with morbid obesity who had preoperative bariatric surgery to reduce weight exhibited worse implant survivorship and a higher dislocation rate compared to patients with naturally low or high BMI, according to findings presented at the AAOS 2022 Annual Meeting by Sean P.
