Orthopaedic surgeons have many opportunities to offer their services for domestic and international humanitarian outreach. At the AAOS Fall Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, three speakers shared personal stories about bringing orthopaedic care to underserved communities during a session, titled “Domestic and International Humanitarian Outreach.”
Established in 1956 with just nine physicians, KOA currently has a thriving membership of more than 8,000. Uniting 24 subspecialty societies, it is one of the largest medical associations in the Republic of Korea. KOA supports the orthopaedic profession and patient health through multiple educational avenues. It hosts two annual Congresses in April and October and holds several courses and meetings throughout the year.
