The use of cannabis sativa derivatives (cannabinoids) for the treatment of multiple medical conditions has slowly gained interest among different medical specialties. One of the derivatives of interest is cannabidiol, commonly known as CBD. CBD has gained popularity because it does not cause the psychotropic effects commonly associated with active delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), as reported by a 2017 paper on oral CBD by Nahler et. al.
