The AAOS family of registries includes the American Joint Replacement Registry (AJRR); the Fracture & Trauma Registry (FTR); the Musculoskeletal Tumor Registry (MsTR); the Shoulder & Elbow Registry (SER); and the American Spine Registry (ASR), a collaborative effort between the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and AAOS. With more than 4.5 million procedures across five registries, the AAOS Registry Program has grown significantly and continues to publish and present its findings around the world.
There will be a wealth of opportunities for attendees to engage with AAOS Registry Program data and learn about participation at the Annual Meeting. Five posters will be on display and seven paper presentations will be held that analyze AJRR and SER data.

Drop by the Engagement Theater in OrthoLive to watch any of the scheduled Registry Program presentations led by surgeon leaders. The presentations will demonstrate how the Registry Program enhances the quality of patient care. One of the presentations will cover how the registries support prior authorization with partner Cohere Health. Look for the Registry Program pop-up booth after each of these Engagement Theater sessions in case you have any questions related to your participation. The pop-up booth will also be available at other times and locations during the meeting.
Focus group
A unique opportunity for attendees this year is a focus group that will be held in collaboration with Cohere Health. The focus group will address streamlining orthopaedic care through the prior authorization program that Cohere launched in partnership with AJRR. Surgeons from all specialties were selected to participate in sharing experiences and providing feedback to improve the prior authorization program.
AJRR Annual Report Supplement
The AJRR 2024 Annual Report Supplement was published in conjunction with the Annual Meeting and highlights registry trends in debridement, antibiotics, and implant retention cases and survival outcomes. The report can be downloaded online, along with recent annual reports and fact sheets from the other registries. Visit aaos.org/registries to learn more and download the supplement.
