Help Celebrate the OrthoPAC’s 25th Anniversary

Volunteer leaders will be on hand to talk about AAOS’ successful advocacy efforts

The AAOS advocacy team and the Political Action Committee of the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (OrthoPAC) encourage members to stop by their new location in OrthoLive, West Hall (previously on the exhibit floor). At this year’s meeting, in addition to sharing about advocacy efforts to shape the future of musculoskeletal care, OrthoPAC will be celebrating its 25th anniversary and rolling out its new logo with the tagline “Unity in Orthopaedics.” OrthoPAC’s work is not about red or blue, or Republicans versus Democrats. It is about uniting for the betterment of the profession and patients.

Visit the booth and OrthoPAC Donor Lounge
7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Thursday OrthoLive, West Hall
The OrthoPAC Booth will be open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday, in OrthoLive, West Hall. Inside of the booth walls, the OrthoPAC Donor Lounge offers current and new OrthoPAC members of all contribution levels a place to grab a snack, refresh, and relax during the busy week. Stop by to renew your annual OrthoPAC membership, pick up your 25th anniversary pin, and discuss exciting plans for the year ahead.

Healthcare policy experts from AAOS’ Office of Government Relations (OGR) in Washington, D.C., and key AAOS leadership will also be available at the booth to discuss AAOS advocacy priorities, from reducing prior authorization and administrative burdens to fixing Medicare payment and promoting surgeon-led payment models. In addition to discussing new initiatives, they will highlight some of AAOS’ recent advocacy “wins” and what movement is expected at the federal, state, and local levels this year and beyond.

The OGR staff encourage members interested in shaping the political landscape to ask about opportunities to get involved with advocacy, such as becoming a congressional ambassador or participating in grassroots efforts via the Advocacy Action Center at aaos.org/advocacy.

OrthoPAC’s Donor Appreciation Luncheon featuring Dr. Glaucomflecken
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday West, Room 3018
All 2023 and 2024 OrthoPAC donors are invited to attend the annual Donor Appreciation Luncheon. In addition to celebrating the OrthoPAC’s 25th anniversary and major advocacy milestones, guests will hear from American comedian and ophthalmologist Will Flanary, MD, better known as Dr. Glaucomflecken. He will open with a comedy routine and move into how his own personal health scare and experience from the patient perspective led him to the healthcare advocacy space.

Please note that due to space constraints, attendance is limited to only 2023 and 2024 OrthoPAC donors. RSVP is required; text “PAClunch” to 41444. Other eligible AAOS members can contribute at the door if space remains available.
