AAOS PROMs Vendor Program Enhances Patient Outcomes

The AAOS Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) Vendor Program, a key part of the AAOS PROMs in Practice initiative, offers a curated list of technology vendors who can support orthopaedic surgeons and their teams in measuring patient outcomes data. AAOS selects participants based on criteria such as their ability to measure and submit patient-reported outcomes data and their history with the AAOS Registries. For more information on the AAOS PROMs Vendor Program, visit the new landing page.

Utilizing PROMs in orthopaedics is crucial for enhancing patient care and outcomes. PROMs provide valuable insights into patients’ perspectives on their functional status and quality of life, allowing clinicians to tailor treatments to individual needs. By systematically measuring these data, orthopaedic surgeons can improve clinical decision making, monitor treatment effectiveness, and identify areas for improvement. Incorporating PROMs fosters patient-centered care, drives quality improvement, and supports evidence-based practices, ultimately leading to better health outcomes and higher patient satisfaction.

Top-scoring AAOS PROMs vendors who have a proven track record in data submission to the AAOS Registries include CareSense System (Medtrak), CODE Technology, HOPCo, Ortech, and PatientIQ. Other notable vendors who were chosen for this program due to their abilities to ease the burden of utilizing PROMs in practice via technology solutions are: MiCare Path, OM1, Twistle by Health Catalyst, Algos Pathways, Cedaron, Consensus Medical Systems, Mytonomy, OBERD, OutcomeMD, Pro-Mapp, and VisionTree.
