On Sunday, the AAOS Board of Directors (BoD) held its last official meeting for the 2023–2024 BoD in San Francisco prior to the AAOS 2024 Annual Meeting.
During its meeting, the BoD received updates on key initiatives including the organizational financial position and the AAOS 2024 Annual Meeting.
The BoD also took action on several matters, including:
- revisions to the Guidance Document for Service on the AAOS Board of Directors, as Council Chairs and Other
- appointment of the AAOS Nominating Committee chair
- AAOS Policy on Geopolitical and Social Issues
Recognition of leaders with expiring terms
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Kevin J. Bozic, MD, MBA, FAAOS, recognized the service of BoD members whose terms end on Sunday, Feb. 18:
- Chad A. Krueger, MD, FAAOS, member-at-large
- Toni M. McLaurin, MD, FAAOS, member-at-large
- Michael P. Bolognesi, MD, FAAOS, secretary of the Board of Specialty Societies
- Alfonso Mejia, MD, MPH, FAAOS, chair of the Board of Councilors
- Felix H. Savoie III, MD, FAAOS, past president
- Elizabeth G. Matzkin, MD, FAAOS, Membership Council chair, was also recognized for her service, as her term concludes following the Annual Meeting.
