Advance the Craft of Orthopaedics by Presenting at the AAOS 2025 Annual Meeting in San Diego

The AAOS 2025 Annual Meeting will be held March 10 to 14, 2025 (Monday through Friday), at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, and you are invited to join the Academy in planning ahead for another must-see educational experience.

The AAOS Annual Meeting has a well-earned reputation as being the largest, most comprehensive orthopaedic educational event of the year. Each year, thousands of experts from around the globe choose AAOS as the best forum to disseminate their knowledge and research. Following the successful and well-attended AAOS 2024 Annual Meeting this past week in San Francisco, the AAOS 2025 Annual Meeting promises to deliver another strong turnout.

The AAOS Annual Meeting Committee is already beginning to focus on building the most current and compelling educational program possible for San Diego in 2025. This is where you come in. If you have knowledge or research to share, you are encouraged to participate in the AAOS 2025 Annual Meeting call for abstracts, which will open at aaos.org/abstracts on April 1.

The 5-day AAOS Annual Meeting offers attendees programming across four distinct learning styles, meaning you also have a wide variety of options when considering what and how to showcase your knowledge and research. Whether presenting from the podium during an Instructional Course Lecture (ICL), displaying a poster in OrthoLive, having your surgical videos on display in OrthoDome¨ or the Orthopaedic Video Theater (OVT), or selecting from one of the many other format options available, each presenter at the AAOS Annual Meeting experiences an unparalleled opportunity to disseminate their work to the entire field. Nowhere else will your discoveries reach such a wide-ranging orthopaedic audience.

“When an attendee is there at one of our meetings, and you can see them shaking their head in the audience from some points that are made from the podium, you feel a great connection. Taking something that I have learned and then being able to pass that on so together we can improve our craft of orthopaedics … that’s what it’s all about,” AAOS Annual Meeting Committee Chair Matthew T. Provencher, MD, MBA, CAPT MC USNR (Ret.), FAAOS, said.

How to participate
AAOS 2025 Annual Meeting applications and abstracts will be accepted for the following formats: case presentations, ICLs, paper presentations, posters, OVT, OrthoDome, Symposia, Technical Skills Courses, and TechTalks.

The deadline to submit ICLs, Symposia, and TechTalks is May 1. Paper and poster abstracts as well as OrthoDome video submissions are due June 1. OVT abstracts will be accepted through July 17. Access detailed submission guidelines online at aaos.org/abstracts.

Join AAOS Monday through Friday again in 2025
The Annual Meeting Committee has closely considered attendee feedback to reimagine the AAOS Annual Meeting schedule and programming. For 2025, you can again look forward to a Monday through Friday meeting, rather than the traditional Tuesday through Saturday format. The shift to a Monday to Friday schedule in 2025 helps to create an optimal attendee experience. It helps attendees avoid weekend travel if they have familial and personal obligations, and it helps get you home to your practice rested, energized, and ready to deliver next-level patient care.
