AAOS Member System Upgrade FAQ

What is happening with the AAOS.org website and database?
The AAOS.org website and other digital platforms will undergo an important upgrade to its database in August. This upgrade is necessary to improve our services, tailor information and provide a seamless member experience. As we make this transition, the website and other services connected to the database will experience a period of downtime.

When will the downtime occur?
The downtime will last for 7 days, starting from August 16 to August 23, 2024. During this period, members will not be able to access materials behind the login or use any other products or services connected to the database.

Which digital products, platforms and services will be affected?
Most member-related services that require an AAOS login, including account management, event registrations, CME tracking, the member directory, and access to member-only resources, will be affected.

Publicly available content that does not require an AAOS login, such as general information and news, will still be accessible. In addition, several resources that typically require an AAOS login to access, such as Orthopaedic Video Theater and Code-X, will be made available without a login during this downtime.

Can I still access my member profile and resources during the downtime?
No, access to member profiles and specific member-only resources will be unavailable during the upgrade period. We recommend you download any essential documents, register for upcoming events, track and claim any CME updates or update your profile and membership information before the downtime begins on August 16.

How will this upgrade benefit me as a member?
The Member system upgrade will enhance the functionality, security, and user experience of the AAOS.org website and other digital platforms. It will provide a more seamless interaction, faster access to information, and improved overall performance.

What should I do if I need assistance during the downtime?
The AAOS Service Center team will be available to help you via email at customerservice@aaos.org or by phone at 847-823-7186. Please reach out if you have any urgent issues or questions.

Will any events or deadlines be affected by this downtime?
Yes, some events and deadlines might be impacted. We will extend deadlines and provide alternative solutions where possible. Please check your email for any specific updates related to your activities. To ensure you don’t miss any important information, make sure to check your SPAM inbox and/or whitelist AAOS as a safe sender.

How can I stay updated on the progress of the upgrade?
We will send regular updates via email and other AAOS communication channels. Please check your inbox or visit the homepage of AAOS.orgfor the latest information.

What if the upgrade takes longer than expected?
While we aim to complete the upgrade within 7 days, unforeseen issues can arise. If additional time is needed, we will communicate any changes promptly and work to minimize the inconvenience.

Will my data be safe during the upgrade?
Yes, safeguarding your data is our top priority. All data will be securely backed up before the upgrade begins, and strict security protocols will be in place throughout the process.
