It’s a place to look, to learn, to shop, and even to take a break—it’s the brand new AAOS Resource Center. Located in the Moscone Center West Lobby, this sleek, modern facility brings together electronic programming, product demonstrations, and new publications sure to interest you.

“We completely rethought the idea of a resource center,” said Daniel J. Berry, MD, AAOS president. “The new Resource Center combines information booths with interactive product demonstrations, traditional print publications, live presentations, and even a lounge area for when you need a break from all the Annual Meeting action.”

Learn, sample, linger
The information booths focus on many critical areas targeted for action. Member volunteers and staff are available daily to answer questions and explain AAOS involvement in the following areas: public relations, patient safety, professional compliance, OrthoPortal, orthoinfo.org, membership, diversity, evidence-based quality tools, the Orthopaedic Surgeon Census, practice management, and personal websites.

Browse the Academy’s extensive electronic library and sample current programs. Let the staff guide you through the educational experience or explore cases, techniques, diagnoses, and approaches on your own.

The Resource Center also is the perfect place to find clinical publications—books you depend on and new titles that expand the field of orthopaedics.

The committee and staff did everything possible to ensure that a variety of major titles will be in stock,” said Evan L. Flatow, MD, Publications Committee chair. “Browsers should be especially interested in the new Instructional Course Lectures 61, as well as Orthopaedic Knowledge Update 10, Spine Trauma, and Arthroscopic Surgical Techniques: Advanced Ankle Arthroscopy. You’ll also find specialized orthopaedic coding tools, self-assessment exams, more than 20 new titles on Kindle, and much more.”

Take advantage of the Resource Center’s special Annual Meeting pricing offers; these bargain prices are available only this week.

A new theater
The new Resource Center Theater is a unique, intimate space where you can participate in a variety of free, live, and recorded programs. Get the latest on Maintenance of Certification™; learn about the innovative OrthoPortal that searches all AAOS electronic resources in a single operation; pick up pearls and avoid pitfalls with surgical technique discussions; and find out how to plug your reimbursement leaks.

Tap into new resources from the AAOS Practice Management Center, find out how you can help build an educational legacy to benefit yourself as well as new generations of orthopaedic surgeons, and learn more about evidence-based surgical guidelines.

According to Dr. Berry, “The AAOS Resource Center Theater is a must-visit learning space.” Stop by at your convenience; the Resource Center is open today through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
