You can now take the AAOS 2018 Annual Meeting home with you!

We are excited to offer the AAOS Annual Meeting On Demand product at a discount to meeting attendees here with us in New Orleans.

Both members and nonmembers can save $1,000 if they preorder now. With approximately 500 hours of recorded content, your purchase enables you to revisit the presentations you attended at any time or view sessions you may have missed.

Features of AAOS Annual Meeting On Demand include the following:

  • Watch like you are there in person. By combining slides with synchronized audio, the technology recreates a live session experience.
  • Learn at your desk or on the go. Watch presentations on your computer, tablet, and even on your smart phone. Start watching on one device and pick-up exactly where you left off on another.
  • Earn Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits and satisfy your requirements. Simply watch a session and then click on the CME Test button. Earning credits is easy, fast, and convenient.
  • Learn offline and take notes. Users can download PDF files of the presentation slides to their devices for easier review and note taking.
  • Access session handouts. In addition to the audio and video presentations, users will also receive all the sessions, enabling them to review the digital files or print hardcopies.
  • Listen while you learn. MP3 audio files are easily loaded onto your favorite MP3 player, so you can listen to sessions while on the go.

For more information visit one of the Annual Meeting On Demand sales locations at the Sales Booth in Academy Hall B as well as the Sales Counter in the La Nouvelle Ballroom Lobby.

Food options at the meeting

Boxed lunches were available for preorder only during advance Annual Meeting registration, which ended on Jan. 24, 2018.

This offering was a new feature and more than 750 lunches were ordered. During the advance registration process, you were provided the option of choosing one of seven different boxed lunches per meeting day. The choices included gluten-free and vegetarian options. Each $20 boxed lunch—prepared by Centerplate, the exclusive vendor of all food and beverage services at the Morial Convention Center—was available for pick-up onsite.

If you missed the boxed lunch advance ordering, you still can take advantage of great food onsite! You can visit the AAOS Bistro, located in the Exhibit Hall, where you can find an all-inclusive buffet lunch with hot and cold foods. Table reservations can be made Wednesday through Friday, and tickets can be purchased onsite or in advance at the Bistro tickets sales booth.

Another option is to visit one of the food and beverage concession areas for convenient walk-up service.

Similar to the AAOS Annual Meeting On Demand product, the growing number of food options demonstrates the Academy’s desire to provide the best possible experience for attendees. I’m confident the Academy will debut other experience-enriching features next year, too.
