Summary: The Hana Table is a recognized operating patient positioning device used widely for hip and lower extremity orthopedic procedures. This operating table allows for both supine and lateral decubitus patient positioning. One challenge that hinders operating efficiency is the multifaceted setup with the many attachments and endless positioning possibilities which, in theory, exist to provide a fully uninhibited operating experience. A walkthrough video of supine patient positioning highlighting pearls and pitfalls has previously been done. However, there has been no straightforward video demonstration of lateral decubitus positioning on the Hana Table. This video fills that gap as we provide a thorough instructional video demonstration highlighting key steps of setup and discuss a few of the advantages of the lateral decubitus position on the Hana Table. The aim is to enhance setup efficiency, promote discovery of new ideas and approaches in using the Hana Table, and ensure patient stability and safety during surgery.
