The Mini-Incision Ganz Osteotomy in the Management of Acetabular Dysplasia: Surgical Technique

The Ganz osteotomy (also known as a periacetabular osteotomy) has emerged as a valuable surgical technique that is associated with several advantages in the management of acetabular dysplasia. The Ganz osteotomy is a re-orientational periacetabular osteotomy performed in skeletally mature individuals, providing a large degree of correction in all planes and an intact posterior column. Repositioning of the acetabulum allows for better alignment of the hip joint, which helps distribute forces evenly, reduces joint stress, and promotes more stable articulation. Using a single surgical approach and maintaining the blood supply of the acetabulum are other advantages of this technique. This video presents the surgical technique for the Ganz osteotomy.
