Technique for Surgical Hip Dislocation and Femoral Head Osteochondral Allograft Transplant for Treatment of Isolated Femoral Head Osteochondral Defect

In this video, we show the surgical technique used for hip dislocation and femoral head osteochondral allograft transplant for treatment of isolated femoral head osteochondral defect. Chondral lesions of the femoral head are a painful condition that commonly occurs secondary to trauma or congenital deformity. These defects can progress to gradual degeneration of the joint and eventual osteoarthritis. Patients often experience generalized hip pain and occasional painful mechanical symptoms that are caused by catching of the delaminated chondral flaps or fragments.
