Posterior Sternoclavicular Dislocation in an Adolescent: Review and Closed Reduction
This video demonstrates successful closed reduction of a posterior sternoclavicular dislocation and reviews imaging studies, reduction technique, post-reduction management, and published outcomes. The case presentation of a 16-year-old girl who presented to a level 1 trauma center with polytrauma after a motor vehicle collision is discussed. Closed reduction was performed in the operating room after initial stabilization and evaluation of other injuries. Post-reduction, no weight bearing was allowed and a shoulder sling was used. The patient remained clinically stable during limited post-reduction follow-up.
