Braided Hamstring Graft for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction
Hamstring autograft is one of the most used grafts for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. Proper graft configuration, diameter, and length are essential; however, re-creation of the biomechanical properties of the native anterior cruciate ligament is extremely difficult.
This technical video describes the use of a hamstring braid graft configuration for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. This graft is thicker, uniform, reliable, and easy to prepare and may overcome prior disadvantages associated with the use of soft-tissue grafts for anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
