This video reviews the surgical technique for distal metaphyseal ulnar shortening osteotomy with the use of a headless compression screw. The video briefly reviews relevant anatomy, surgical alternatives for the management of ulnar impaction syndrome, and postoperative protocols. The outcomes of a published case series are discussed, and a biomechanical perspective is provided.
