Rotator Cuff–Sparing Arthroscopic Superior Labrum Anterior to Posterior Tear Repair With Knotless All-Suture Anchors
Arthroscopic repair of superior labrum anterior to posterior tears is a common shoulder procedure, especially in overhead athletes. Repair techniques have evolved in the past 20 years; however, the optimal technique remains elusive. In many patients, a trans-rotator cuff portal placed lateral to the acromion is used to access the superior glenoid. However, violating the rotator cuff is not desirable in overhead athletes, and this approach may be associated with an increased risk of postoperative morbidity. This technical video demonstrates our preferred surgical technique for the arthroscopic superior labrum anterior to posterior tear repair via a rotator cuff–sparing approach with the use of all-suture anchors.
