Anterior Sternoclavicular Joint Reconstruction With Hamstring Allograft

This video shows anterior sternoclavicular joint reconstruction with hamstring allograft performed by Dr. Winston Warme at the University of Washington. The patient shown in this video is a 17-year-old hypermobile girl who voluntarily subluxes her bilateral sternoclavicular joints anteriorly. Elective reconstruction was performed after extensive nonsurgical management failed. The video demonstrates the planned incision, exposure, and reconstruction construct. Postoperative video footage obtained several months after reconstruction shows the minor scar from the procedure and demonstrates relative stability of the surgically managed joint compared with the unmanaged contralateral joint. This patient performed well and elected to undergo contralateral joint stabilization via this technique.
