The portals that are included are the glenohumeral portals and the subacromial-or SA-portals. Clinical correlations with portal placements and procedures preformed in the glenohumeral joint-such as SLAP repairs, capsular releases, and instability reconstructions-are discussed. The subacromial (SA) portals include the portal placements necessary to perform arthroscopic subacromial decompressions (ASADs), rotator cuff repairs, and acromial clavicular resections (the Mumford procedure).
