Patient-Specific Guides for Osteotomy, Do It Yourself

March 01, 2017

Contributors: Bruno Borralho Gobbato, MD

Patient-specific guides (PSG) are being used in high-cost procedures, but this technique can also be used to help the surgeon in other procedures like open wedge valgizing high tibial osteotomies. The introduction of PSG for guiding bone cuts and correctly placing the implant can be a useful technique for any bone surgery. The purpose of this video is to show all the steps and software needed (most free) for the surgical planning in 3D of a valgus osteotomy and designing your own patient-specific guide for the procedure.
