All Clinical Practice Guidelines and Appropriate Use Criteria topic categorizations in the section tabs displayed at the top of the page were developed in collaboration with the Major Extremity Trauma Research Consortium (METRC) and funded by a Department of Defense (DoD) research grant. These new tools are intended to offer guidance on decision factors for adults with severe extremity trauma and are geared towards the needs of military surgeons. All topics contained within the DoD grant have military workgroup representatives, as well as representatives from the AAOS and specialty societies.
