AAOS Website Linking Policy

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (collectively "AAOS") present the AAOS Website Linking Policy as an educational service to the public and to our Fellows and members.

Any website is encouraged to link to either the homepage of the AAOS website (www.aaos.org) or to any of the interior pages and documents of the AAOS website, adhering to the following rules:

  • Any website may link directly to the AAOS website or any interior page. Using this method, control is transferred from the originating website to the website maintained by the AAOS.
  • Any website may link to the AAOS website or any interior page by opening a new browser window that displays the AAOS's content. Using this method, two (or more) browser windows are open (one from the originating website and one or more containing information from the AAOS website).
  • Websites may not link to the AAOS website using frames, in which material in the AAOS website would be framed within the originating website.

All material on the AAOS website is protected by copyright and all rights are reserved.

No material on the AAOS website may be replicated and posted, or altered and posted, on the originating website.

In addition to all other disclaimers stated on the AAOS website, the AAOS explicitly makes no warranty or guarantee concerning the content or reliability of the content on the AAOS website or of the content or reliability of the content of the websites that are linked to the AAOS website.

AAOS, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to amend or cancel any linking arrangement to any website regarding the AAOS website at any time.
