AAOS Resident Rumble

What is the Resident Rumble?

The AAOS Resident Rumble is an exciting no-holds-barred virtual trivia competition that pits residency programs from across the country against one another. The games are a combination of orthopaedic-based trivia, pop culture trivia, and fun competitions.  

When Are The 2024 Events?

  • Quarterfinals: April 3, 10, and 17
  • Semifinals: April 24 and May 1
  • Finals: May 8

Teams that advance from the quarterfinals must be available for the semifinals on either April 24 or May 1. The top two teams that progress from the semifinals need to be available for the finals on May 8.

What Do The Winners Receive?

Bragging rights to start! The champion will receive recognition as a Resident Rumble winner, a coveted Resident Rumble trophy, and an invitation to compete in the in-person Resident Bowl at AAOS 2025 Annual Meeting in San Diego (registration for Annual Meeting required).

But that's not all! The winning team will also receive a $150 gift card for each player. Second place team members will receive a $50 gift card.

By attending and participating in the Resident Rumble, attendees and participants grant AAOS (and its employees and agents) permission to capture, retain, and utilize the attendees’ and participants’ image, likeness, voice, and actions, whether captured live and streamed in real time or recorded and in any format. Any such images or likeness captured during the Resident Rumble may be used by AAOS for display, exhibition, publication, or reproduction in any medium or context for any purpose, including, but not limited to, AAOS’ promotional or commercial purposes and on AAOS’ Orthopaedic Video Theater (OVT), without further notice, authorization, or compensation. Attendees and participants hereby release AAOS from any and all claims related to AAOS’ use of such images or "likeness.”
