When and where is the Annual Meeting?
Meeting Dates: Tuesday, March 7 – Saturday, March 11

Exhibit Dates: Wednesday, March 8 – Friday, March 10

When is Specialty Day?
For the 2023 Annual Meeting, Specialty Society Sessions will be held on Tuesday and Saturday. A detailed schedule will be available in Fall 2022.

When does registration open?
Registration will open on Wednesday, November 9, 2022.

Where can I find the Annual Meeting app?

The My Academy app is available for free download from the App Store or Google Play. It is the go-to resource for planning your customized experience. You can choose your ideal learning path by adding education programs, Exhibit Hall activities, and must-see exhibitors to your custom agenda. The My Academy app will automatically update in November for the upcoming 2023 Annual Meeting.

Can family members attend the meeting?
AAOS members receive one complimentary Family Badge that may be used by a spouse, significant other, or immediate family member (not an active medical professional). You may pre-register a family member during online registration or on-site. All Family Badge recipients must be accompanied by the registered AAOS member and present an ID to receive a Family Badge.

Family Badge attendees 16 years and older have access to the following:

  • Academy Hall
  • Industry Exhibits
  • Your Academy/Guest Speaker

Family Badge attendees under 16 have access to Academy Hall only, providing they are not disruptive to surrounding activities.

Please note: Family Badge attendees will not have access to any educational sessions or events.

How many CME credits are available for the Annual Meeting?
Annual Meeting attendees can earn AMA PRA Category CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. CME Credit details for the 2023 Annual Meeting are pending. More information on Annual Meeting activities that are eligible for CME credit can be found at CME Details.

International Physicians: The AMA has determined that physicians not licensed in the United States but who participate in this CME activity are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™.

Allied Health Professionals: The AAOS is not accredited to offer credit for nurses and other Allied Health Professionals. To determine if activities offering AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ are acceptable for your licensing or certification needs please contact the relevant organizations directly.

What is Annual Meeting On Demand / Gold Registration Package?
Gold Registration includes live meeting attendance PLUS Annual Meeting On Demand a comprehensive online library with over 500 hours of educational meeting content that you can watch anytime, anywhere. Plus, earn up to 100 CME credits. Now you can own the sessions you attended plus the many you could not fit in. Extend your learning past the meeting!

How can I get ADA assistance?
AAOS will consider the requests of persons with disabilities for reasonable modifications of policies, practices and procedures or for auxiliary aids and services where necessary to provide access to AAOS facilities, events, services and products. AAOS encourages that such requests be made as soon as possible to enhance AAOS’s ability to accommodate the requests.  All ADA requests for the AAOS 2023 Annual Meeting should be submitted by Wednesday, February 23, 2023.

What is the closest airport?
Distance from Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) to The Venetian and The Palazzo is about 4.5 miles

What are my transportation options?
Rideshare Service
Companies like Uber and Lyft provide service from Harry Reird Airport to the Strip.

Taxi Service

More than ten taxi companies provide service to and from the airport and locations throughout Las Vegas. Some taxis will not accept credit card payments. Customers should notify the attendant if they plan to use a credit card for payment.

The maximum number of passengers allowed in any taxi is five, including infants and children.

Cost: Varies depending on traffic and time of year. Additionally, there is a $1.80 charge on all fares originating at the airport.

From The Venetian and The Palazzo:

  • Pick-up locations:
    • The Venetian: North end of The Venetian Porte Cochere, in front of the shuttle area
    • The Palazzo: North end of the Upper Porte Cochere, in front of the shuttle area
  • Drop-off locations:
    • The Venetian: Main Entrance
    • The Palazzo: Upper Level

From Harry Reid International Airport:

  • Terminal 1: Taxicabs are available on the east side of baggage claim, outside door exits 1 - 4. Airport personnel is available to help queue the lines and provide assistance as needed.
  • Terminal 3: Taxis are conveniently located outside on Level Zero. There are 20 taxi loading positions on the on the west end of the building to serve domestic travelers and 10 loading positions on the east side of the building to accommodate international travelers. Quick exit lanes will allow traffic to leave the airport quickly and airport personnel are available to assist as needed.

Parking at The Venetian and The Palazzo

The Venetian and The Palazzo have two parking garages. Parking is provided as a courtesy to all our guests of The Venetian and The Palazzo.

The Venetian and Venezia

The Venetian parking garage can be accessed by Las Vegas Boulevard or by a shared access road off Koval Lane behind the hotel.

  • Levels: 14, with some oversized parking on Level 1
  • Valet: 3rd Floor
  • Poker Room Parking: 5th Floor

The Palazzo

The Palazzo parking garage can be accessed by Sands Avenue. To access from Sands Avenue, turn right at the first traffic light heading East past Las Vegas Boulevard.

  • Levels: 4 (P1, P2, P3, P4)
  • Hertz: P2
  • Valet: P2, accessible on the Upper Porte Cochere

What is the weather like in Las Vegas?
The average temperature in the Las Vegas area in early March is 76 degrees Fahrenheit, with an average high of 72 and an average low of 29. 

What is the attire for the meeting?
Professional attire is appropriate at the meeting and to visit the exhibit hall. Some restaurants require coats and ties for gentleman, but most welcome casual attire. Check each restaurant’s policy when making reservations.
