OrthoDome

“There’s really nothing like it.”

OrthoDome is an AAOS Annual Meeting experience that offers an immersive and comfortable video theater room showcasing orthopaedic surgical techniques and devices in 4K resolution video, narrated live by the experts. OrthoDome is powered by Orthopaedic Video Theater (OVT) and chaired by Ronald A. Navarro, MD, FAAOS and Lisa K. Cannada, MD, FAAOS.

A selection of OrthoDome videos that were presented live at the AAOS 2024 Annual Meeting in San Francisco are now available to watch on OVT as a free benefit to AAOS members.

OrthoDome Submissions

  • Video Specifications

    • Videos should be 7-12 minutes in length with a maximum file size of 45 GB.
    • AAOS is seeking high quality non-3D content. Videos should be recorded in either HD or UHD (4K). Please see specs below.
    • Presenters will be asked to give a live narration of their video onsite.
    • We encourage videos to be submitted with audio narration. These videos can then be repurposed for publication in the Orthopaedic Video Theater. During the OrthoDome presentation, the video will be played without audio to allow for live narration.

    HD Content

    • File type “.mov”
    • Encoding codec: Apple ProRes
    • Frame size: 1920x1080
    • Framerate: 60fps
    • This content will be scaled up to UHD for projection

    UHD (4K) Content

    • File type “.mov”
    • Encoding codec: Apple ProRes
    • Frame size: 3840x2160
    • Framerate: 60fps
    • Content displayed at native resolution
