Welcome, AAOS members and the orthopaedic community, to an exciting journey toward the AAOS 2025 Annual Meeting! As we prepare to gather at the San Diego Convention Center from March 10 to 14, 2025, I am thrilled to share how we are setting the stage for an unparalleled educational experience. The launch of our new website is a significant strategic initiative, serving as a gateway for surgeons and stakeholders to learn about the meeting and engage with its offerings. This is part of developing a multiyear strategy for the Annual Meeting.
New website: Gateway to a personalized, elevated experience
In June, AAOS unveiled a comprehensive new website as the online hub for the world’s largest orthopaedics meeting. This site is more than just a digital platform; it’s a gateway to the personalized and elevated experiences that await you in San Diego. Explore the site now at aaos.org/annual or scan the QR code below.
With enhanced visual elements that capture the vibrant, dynamic experience of our Annual Meeting, the new website allows attendees to explore AAOS 2025 offerings, plan their participation, and navigate with ease to maximize the value of their involvement.
Strategic initiatives to reimagine and enhance your Annual Meeting experience
The Annual Meeting committees have been hard at work on several strategic initiatives to ensure AAOS remains the premier orthopaedic educational event.
Here are the key focus areas of our multiyear strategy:
- engagement and experience: enhancing the engagement and experience of all participants by creating interactive platforms that foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities among orthopaedic professionals worldwide
- content evaluation and enhancement: committing to providing the highest-quality educational content through rigorous evaluation methods and feedback mechanisms, ensuring the relevance and impact of our educational sessions and resources
- agile governance: maintaining agile and responsive meeting governance to quickly adapt to the evolving needs of our members. This streamlined decision-making process allows us to implement innovative ideas and respond more effectively to your feedback, enhancing your overall experience.
- growth and community building: positioning the AAOS Annual Meeting as the must-attend event for orthopaedic professionals, serving as a platform for the orthopaedic community to grow, learn, share, and connect with the latest industry products and services
We have more to share about our broader strategy in the near future, so stay tuned for updates.
2025 program development well under way
Our Central Program Committee and Instructional Course Committee, chaired this year by Stephen Kottmeier, MD, FAAOS, and Xinning Li, MD, FAAOS, are diligently curating a program that will exceed your expectations. We aim to deliver an exceptional educational experience across all orthopaedic specialties, providing tangible, hands-on information that you can immediately apply in your practice.
Following a successful call for applications and abstracts this spring, the Annual Meeting committees are reviewing and selecting from thousands of submissions to curate a world-class education experience. Just as the newly launched website was modernized in response to attendee feedback, our education program is being closely reviewed for opportunities to enhance your experience.
Strategic location selection for future meetings
Choosing the right location for our meetings is another critical strategic initiative. We’ve conducted a thorough review of future meeting locations, considering member preferences and industry stakeholder input. Selecting locations years in advance ensures we provide the best possible experience for our attendees. We are excited about the future and confident in our choices.
San Diego, the location for AAOS 2025, epitomizes our commitment to an exceptional meeting experience. With everything you need close at hand, the city offers a fantastic setting for networking, learning, and enjoying your time at the conference.
Streamlining the Annual Meeting Mobile App
A vital strategic pillar is our technology review, including streamlining the meeting mobile app. Our goal is for the app to be hyper-focused on being an event-first tool—easy to use in real time, helping you understand what’s available, effortlessly guiding you to where you want to go, and free from extraneous information or features.
