You're invited to "Breakfast in the Posters"

Tomorrow, get your day off to a great start by enjoying a continental breakfast from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and perusing award-winning scientific posters at “Breakfast in the Posters.”

The event, held in Academy Hall CD of the Morial Convention Center, gives you the opportunity to network with your colleagues and examine nearly 600 posters in 11 exhibit categories.

WHAT: 600 posters in 11 categories

WHEN: 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. tomorrow (Friday)

WHERE: Academy Hall CD

The Annual Meeting Program Committee and Subcommittees have already determined the best posters in each exhibit category and designated them with yellow ribbons. Joseph A. Bosco, III, MD, chair of the Annual Meeting Program Committee, will determine the best overall poster on site, and the blue ribbon will be awarded to that poster tomorrow morning. Evaluation criteria include topic, scientific merit, and validity of conclusions. The winners will be announced in Saturday’s AAOS Now Daily Edition.

Ten posters are being sponsored by Mexico, the 2010 Annual Meeting Guest Nation. In addition, four posters are being presented by the Board of Orthopaedic Specialty Societies, including submissions from the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, the J. Robert Gladden Society, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. The Orthopaedic Research Society also has 10 posters in the exhibit.

This year, all poster presenters can upload their posters into ePoster format for viewing after the Annual Meeting. These ePosters will be available at approximately 1 month after the meeting.

Running short on time? Even if your schedule won’t allow you to attend the breakfast, be sure to walk through the poster exhibits in the Morial Convention Center, Academy Hall CD. Posters are open for viewing daily through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The presenters will be on hand to answer questions today and Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
