Questions about MOC?

If you have questions about the Maintenance of Certification™ (MOC), you can find the answers right here at the AAOS Annual Meeting. Simply stop by the American Board of Surgery (ABOS) resource booth where ABOS staff and board directors can answer your questions.

While you’re there, you can also check your certificate expiration date and learn more about the MOC requirements and deadlines that apply to you. The ABOS booth is located in Venetian Foyer East at the Venetian Hotel and is open from Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

More MOC resources await you at the AAOS Resource Center Bookstore, where Academy staff members can direct you to continuing medical education and self-assessment examinations that will help satisfy some of your MOC requirements. You may also view your online transcript there. The AAOS Resource Center Bookstore, located in Hall D of the Venetian Hotel, is open Wednesday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday, 7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Residents and new practitioners should also take advantage of the Forum for Young Orthopaedic Surgeons with the ABOS, which will take place on Thursday, Feb. 26 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Venetian Hotel, Room 3205. This annual forum provides an opportunity to meet informally with representatives from the ABOS to learn about board requirements and procedures. If you will be completing Part 1 or Part 2 of the MOC process soon, you should not miss this event.
