Calling Orthopaedic Residents!

Events specifically designed for orthopaedic residents will be held in the San Diego Convention Center during the Annual Meeting.

On Wednesday, March 15, the Resident Assembly will hold its Open Forum from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. in Room 32. During this event, residents will have the opportunity to discuss proposed advisory opinions to be brought before the Resident Assembly, which serves as an advisory body to the AAOS on issues of importance to orthopaedic residents.

The Resident Assembly will meet the following day—Thursday, March 16—from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Room 2. During this event, residents have the chance to make important contributions to AAOS and toward their own professional advancement by joining a committee or becoming a delegate.

Another resident-focused event on Thursday is the Resident Bowl, which will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Room 6B. The Resident Bowl provides an exciting opportunity for residents to compete against one another in a game-style setting, with AAOS Past-President David Teuscher, MD, quizzing up to 30 teams of 4 residents to test their knowledge in orthopaedics, orthopaedic history, and non-orthopaedic trivia.

On Friday, residents can participate in the Resident Education Forum from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in Room 3. At this event, moderated by William N. Levine, MD, residents are invited to share best practices for shaping the future of orthopaedic resident education.
