Correct coding can be a challenge which is why AAOS offers free coding advice for its members. Your submission will be reviewed by the AAOS Coding Coverage & Reimbursement Committee along with AAOS staff. These services are available to AAOS members for 10 free inquiries per year. However, subscribers of AAOS software Code-X are granted unlimited submission of questions per year. At this time, the service is only available to current AAOS members.
When submitting a coding question, please be sure to include the following information:
- AAOS Member name and member ID#
- De-identified, completed operative report
- Diagnosis(es)
- Indication for procedure
- Physician's suggested coding for the operative note provided
